Yesterday's Note from Pastor: Together we are stronger….. “Two are better than one…If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV) If there is one thing I have learned in life, it’s that we cannot do this life alone! So many try to just “get through” on their own thinking that’s their only option. We need each other, we were created for relationship. First to have a relationship with the Father through Christ, then a relationship with others. There are many things about other people that make building and maintaining those relationships difficult, nearly impossible. But we must not let ourselves believe the lie that we are better off alone. Relationships can be so rewarding and fulfilling. The early church understood this principle and I truly believe that is how they were able to grow during some great persecution. They leaned on and trusted one another. So do you see the value in relationships with others? Have you adopted the motto that you’re better off alone? Pray and ask the Father for wisdom, as well as open doors to connect with the community that is the church. Enjoy connecting this week.

Service update: So with so many people out of power and storm damage we will be moving unity fest to next week. We will share an update by 8 am if the church has power. If there is power we will have morning service at 10:30 am inside as a normal service. If you made a lunch item, we apologize for any inconvenience. If you signed up to bring a dish and cannot bring it next week, no problem. #Unityfest19NGBC

Hey NGBC family, looks like power is out at the church. There are estimates that power may be back on by the end of tonight. If power is back on then we will have service, if not, then unfortunately, we will have to post pone unity fest to next week as we would not be able to provide bathrooms or heat up food for lunch. We will try and post an update by the morning as to if there is power at the church. If service is cancelled then pastor John will go live at 11 am with a short message. Praying for all our church family and many more without power. Please pass the word.

Prayer Request: Joan Aldridge had a stroke this morning and was admitted into Lapeer hospital. Please pray for healing and wisdom.

Update on Nickey Hodges: They did some blood work and it came back that he has a blood clot, not always 100%, but usually that's what the results mean. Please continue to pray for wisdom (and healing) for the doctors that they can figure out the best solution for Nickey as they are doing various tests and scans. Pray also for Judy, for comfort and peace. Thank you!

Prayer concern: Please be in prayer for Nicky Hodges, having some health issues with his heart. Thank you for praying...

Yesterday's "Note from the pastor..." Busy isn’t better… “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10) Do you feel busy? Do you have “to-do” lists that have “get through the to-do list” listed on them? You are not alone, we all have been there or will be there in this life. We can feel like we are just running from one thing to the next. We can feel empty and so drained at the end of a day or week. Usually, we are also too busy to spend time with God. Not because we don’t want to but because we are just so tired. I want you to know God has a different desire for us! I love what Doug Fields says about this idea, “Thankfully, God offers a better way than running on empty. He invites us to walk instead of run and find rest for our weary souls.” I know your thought might be, “I can’t cut anything out!” I would just encourage you to look at your daily life and ask God (and others) for wisdom in what areas need to be readjusted or prioritized so we don’t burn ourselves out, but we are able to connect with God consistently so we are able to life this life to the fullest for his glory.
